The ship data

In Timewarp, the ship data can be put into an allegro data file, or as separate files in a directory. In tw-light, ship files are put into separate directories. I'll discuss the Timewarp directory method now (this should be straightforward to port to tw-light, in case it's needed).

The ship code

The directory source/newships contains two example ships, called _howto_1.cpp and _howto_2.cpp . I will discuss these here in some more detail.

Note that this requires some knowledge of C and object-oriented programming, but not too much.
