Scruff's Spellwriting Tips
OpenFacts, the Open Source Knowledge Database
This section needs to be updated BADLY. I'll hopefully get around to that soon.
Actually, it really doesn't need to be updated anymore, as there's a new spellwriting tutorial that branches off of the old concepts presented in this one.
Here is a collection of tips, tricks, et cetera that I've used in my spells to date. Keep in mind that some of these are absolute hacks and should therefore only be used if the spell being written is specifically for your box.
That's not to say that these hackish tricks won't work well. Use of them may mean that your spell won't be transitioned into the main Grimoire, however.
Take that for what it's worth.
The Variables Used in Spells -- A (not quite) comprehensive list of some of the environment variables and whatnot that will help you in spellwriting. Also, when to and not to use particular variables (you're welcome to whomever requested that part).
Editing a Source File -- What to do if a file in the spell's build dir needs to be edited (as a configuration method, perhaps).
Spellwriting for Dummies -- Alright, it's not the best title. It's not the best write-up, either. It will suffice for those wanting to get started in spellwriting, but don't have a clue.
Getting Source From CVS -- No, I don't mean the friggin' drug store. Yes, this is a cheap and dirty hack, no more, no less. As a matter of fact, I probably shouldn't even write this section. But I will, as soon as I turn my stupid little laptop on.
